What's up, my Greats!
Let me ask you a blunt question: What are you chasing—and is it worth it?
Most people spend their whole lives stuffing their “bags” with things that look shiny but weigh them down: money for status, possessions for ego, applause for validation. And then they wonder why they feel heavy, lost, and blind to their real calling.
Jesus said it like this in Matthew 6:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:19–21
Read that again: where your treasure is, your heart follows.
So let me talk straight to the entrepreneur in you—the one who’s hustling hard, grinding daily, chasing the next win. There’s nothing wrong with ambition. But if your ambition blinds you, you’re in danger of filling your bag with junk that doesn’t last.
1. The Wrong Bags Will Break You
Chasing only money? That’s a bag with holes. Chasing fame? That bag will burn out fast. Chasing validation? That’s a bottomless pit that will never feel full.
The right bag? Impact. Legacy. Integrity. That’s the stuff that carries weight long after you’re gone.
2. Your Eyes Decide Your Direction
Jesus said, “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22)
Translation? What you focus on either fuels you or blinds you.
If all you see is comparison, greed, and competition, you’ll live empty. But if you lock your eyes on purpose, growth, and service—you’ll live lit up, on fire, unstoppable.
3. You Can’t Serve Two Masters
Here’s where it gets even more real: “No one can serve two masters… You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)
That doesn’t mean money is evil. It means money makes a terrible master. If every decision you make is about the dollar, you’ll eventually sell out your soul.
But when you let money serve the mission—when profit becomes a byproduct of purpose—you win twice. You grow your wealth, and you grow your impact.
4. Check What’s in Your Bag
So let me ask you:
Are you carrying around guilt, shame, fear, or greed?
Are you lugging around other people’s expectations?
Are you blinded by chasing stuff that doesn’t matter?
If yes, then it’s time to drop the bag and pack better.
5. Pack for the Journey You’re Really On
What do you want your life to stand for? What do you want people to say about you when you’re gone?
That’s the bag you should be packing every day—with consistency, faith, excellence, and love. That’s the bag that never rots, never rusts, never runs dry.
So here’s your challenge: dump the junk. Check your bag. Repack with things that actually matter. Focus your eyes on purpose, not just profit. Because the wrong bags will blind you, but the right ones will build you.
Now go make it happen.
