What’s up, my Greats!
Let’s be real for a second.
Sometimes your dream doesn’t look like a dream at all. It seems like a disaster. You set out with a purpose. You’ve got a vision. You’ve got drive. You’re trying to do everything right... and then BAM.
Life hits you sideways.
Plans crumble. People disappoint. The situation gets so messy, you start wondering, “Did I hear God wrong? Did I screw this up? Is this still part of the plan?”
Let me hit you with a story that speaks directly to that feeling.
There was a man named Joseph. Just a regular guy, engaged to a woman named Mary. Life was going according to plan. Until he found out she was pregnant.. ..and it wasn’t his baby.
Imagine that.
Now Joseph had a choice. He could flip out, walk away, or expose her (and have her stoned to death). But being a man of integrity, he decided to quietly step back, trying to handle it with grace. Then, in the middle of that confusion, God shows up and completely wrecks Joseph’s idea of what his life was supposed to look like:
“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
— Matthew 1:20
Translation? “This mess you didn’t ask for, it’s actually a miracle in motion.”
That’s wild. But it’s also real life.
See, sometimes what looks like chaos is just purpose in disguise. Sometimes the thing you’re most embarrassed by, most confused by, or most ready to give up on, ends up being the very thing God is going to use to shift your whole story.
Here’s the truth most people won’t tell you: Purpose doesn’t come wrapped in pretty packaging. It often shows up looking like pain, like delay, like rejection. But if you’ve got the faith to keep walking, even when it doesn’t make sense, you’ll realize it was preparation all along.
So what does this mean for you as an entrepreneur, a dream-chaser, an aspiring high achiever?
Let me break it down:
1. Disruption Doesn’t Mean Disqualification
Just because things don’t go how you planned doesn’t mean you’re off track. It could mean God’s elevating you to something bigger than you imagined. Don’t abandon the assignment because you don’t like how it looks right now.
2. Purpose Often Looks Like a Problem at First
Joseph didn’t know he was stepping into destiny. All he saw was a situation that didn’t make sense. But sometimes, divine purpose comes looking like a personal crisis. Learn to pause and look again. There might be more to the story.
3. Obedience Is More Powerful Than Understanding
Joseph didn’t fully get what was going on, but he moved anyway. Entrepreneurs often want all the answers before taking the leap. But obedience, trusting the vision, and taking action despite uncertainty - that’s where the breakthrough happens.
4. Legacy Is Born in the Middle of Chaos
Think about this: Joseph’s decision to stay, changed the course of history. The same might be true for you. The messy chapter you’re in could be the foundation of your legacy. Stay faithful in the chaos. It’s not the end, it’s the beginning.
5. Faith Will Take You Further Than Logic Ever Could
You won’t always be able to reason your way through your calling. Sometimes you’ve just got to leap. Entrepreneurs who win aren’t the ones with the most certainty. They are the ones with the most faith to move despite fear.
So, here’s what I’m telling you. Stop cursing the detour. Stop second-guessing the delay. Stop walking away from situations just because they’re hard or confusing.
The King of Kings came through what looked like a scandal. What makes you think your story can’t be redeemed the same way?
Don’t run from the chaos. Dig into it. Ask what it’s teaching you. Ask what it’s preparing you for. Because if you stay the course, the very thing that’s testing you might be the thing that launches you.
Now go make it happen…and Dare To Be Great!
